DJ Donnie has been in the industry for over 10 years and is one of the top DJs in the Hip hop and RnB genre. A gifted mixologist and perfectionist, he seamlessly crafts old school and current tunes to create a sound that will surely get you moving on the dance floor. DJ Donnie has been around the traps for many years and you may have been lucky enough to catch him at F4, Fashion Lounge, Fusion or Red Violin just to name a few hot spots. His current gigs include the Golden Monkey bar on Thursdays, Velvet Friday @ Seven on Fridays and BE @ Bass Lounge on Saturdays Melbourne.

Tell us about your music style. Any specific genres?
my current music style at play is rnb urban, but i love ol skool. I beleive everyone does in some way.
Tell us your most embarrassing moment.
Where to start... haha one i can think recently of is playing @ Bass lounge not so long ago and the mixer short circuited. Everybody on the floor was, well you could imagine.

When and how did you start as a DJ?
started djin at the age of 16, believe it or not before that age i had no interest of music at all. It was my bro-in-law with all the gadgets, buttons, lights etc that caught my attention.
Who was your inspiration?
At the time while i was learning, i would have to say my bro-in-law. Taught me everything i know.
Where did your DJ name come from?
My real name is Donny, so i guess from birth. I never thought i would be djin in clubs bars or any venue come to think of it.
Do you do your own remixes?
I have made some remixes yes, but live remixing is a skillful technique. respect to the dj's out there that do it live.
Which event was your virgin play?
I think i was 17yrs, played an underage event in a town hall and had never seen a cdj before then. I was a Dennon user before then. Nervous times haha
Turntables or CDJs?
I learnt on Dennon's then moved onto cdjs. But now that im using serato im on turntables.
